Controls
Tap a glowing space to try your tile there, tap the tile to turn it, then press Place. With a mouse, point at a space, press R or right-click to turn, and click to place. On a keyboard, the arrow keys choose a space, R turns, Enter places and Z takes back your last tile. Drag to look around, and pinch or press plus and minus to zoom.
Scoring
Every edge that matches its neighbour scores points: forest beside forest, water beside water, road meeting road. A tile that touches three or more tiles and matches every one is perfect and scores double. Closing off a whole forest, lake or village scores a bonus, and roads joined to the Ember Shrine light up at the end for more. You always see the points before you place.
Quests
Small quests appear as your valley grows, like growing a forest to ten tiles or lighting an Ember Beacon. Finishing one adds tiles to your stack, so a well-planned valley lasts a little longer. Quests never run out of time.
A new valley each day
Everyone gets the same stack of tiles each day, so scores compare fairly, and a new valley starts at midnight UTC. Your valley saves on this device after every tile, so you can stop and come back later. An unfinished valley from yesterday can still be finished, and saved, until today ends. Finished today's valley? Build as many free valleys as you like; only your first valley of the day is ranked.
